Professional Filming and Photography for TV and the Media

Andy Ford has been passionate about in air photography and videography since putting a Canon T70 on a helmet and taking his first in air snaps in 1989, having progressed through the various evolutions of both film and video Andy has filmed in all formats for TV both in the UK and abroad and taken images used by many magazines, newspapers and advertising campaigns.



Andy is available to help you bring your ideas to a vibrant and satifying conclusion with the use of the latest in both equipment and in air flying techniques, both play an important part when creating the right scene or Image for your customers. Many skydivers jump digital camera equipment, but not everyone can see the shot.

Infinite Skydiving not only taught the girls to skydive but filmed and jumped the whole in air scene with our stunt doubles covering for the girls

in a couple of the key sequences. Executive producer Paul Marquess had this to say: “The Hollyoaks parachute jump left all the other shows standing. It's possibly the most spectacular scene ever in a British soap - and thoroughly deserved to win the award”.

Top Gear Canopy Piloting Sequence for the BBC

Kingsman "The Secret Service"

Andy was part of the team who made the stunt jumps for the popular Mathew Vaughn movie Kingsman the Secret Service. Andy jumped with the Red Epic Camera to capture footage inside the skydives as well as doing some of the stunt skydives including Jumps from the Skyvan and Helicopter to get great footage.

 Casual Films project for Totaljobs.com

Working with Casual films, Infinite Skydiving aerial camera flyer Andy Ford captures stunt skydiver Sean Freeman in freefall. The project for Totaljobs.com was shot on the Red Epic Dragon 6k movie camera mounted on our specially designed helmet.

 

For use at a mobile app's awards show the short was shot over one day's jumping taking only 3 skydives and a couple of hours ground based filming.

Working with Extreme productions on an incredibly challenging project to film a winsuit flyer making a mid-air catch of a plummeting rugby ball! 

Great fun and an equally great success the team managed to make the project work against the odds

Watch the Short film currently over 200,000 views online and also the "Behind the scenes" to see the build up and see how we managed the stunt

Filming the sequence in air videographer Andy used the following helmet mounted cameras:

  • Two Gopro 4 Black cameras for 4K footage and still images

  • Canon Eos 5D Mk3 with 50mm lens for video

  • Sony HDR-CX410VE with 16mm lens for video

BBC 1 "The Coroner" 2016

Andy Ford of Infinite Skydiving Solutions teamed up with stuntman Gary Connery to shoot scenes for the BBC daytime series "The Coroner".

Aerial sequences were filmed over Salcombe Estuary, Devon with a hand picked team of professional skydivers for the show.

Andy shot in air on the Panasonic GH4 camera to capture dramatic images over the beautiful Devon coastline on the two day shoot.

Aired In Nov 2016.

Landrover advert with Bear Grylls 2016

Working with TVC Group to film the advert for Landrovers new 2016 model.

Filming the RN Display team and guest skydiver Bear Grylls in an aerial sequence over the Army Parachute Centre at Netheravon Camp

in Wiltshire.

Andy Ford worked alongside Scott Smith from California USA and the RN display team to capture beautiful footage on the helmet mounted Arri Alexa Minicam fitted with Zeiss Prime lenses.

The one day shoot although restricted by time frames due to weather and Bear Grylls schedule came together and was shot, edited and released in an incredibly short 24hr period. A testament to the whole team working under great pressure.

BT Sport - Moto GP advert 2017

Andy and his team worked with BT Sport for the Moto GP pre-season promo shown on the BT Sport channels and BT Showcase. 

 

Infinite Skydiving Solutions provided the BPA qualified tandem instructor, aerial camera flyer and location for the one day shoot.

 

The aerial footage was shot using a helmet mounted 4k Sony A7rii with Leica Loxia 21mm lens provided by Infinite Skydiving Solutions camera dept.

 

Andy co-ordinated the aerial footage and liaised with the director and line producer to complete the project. A great start to the 2017 season.

Pocket-Lint Tandem with Tom Tom Bandit Action camera

Take a couple of Tom Tom Bandit action camera's and a team of professionals and the result is a nice little in air edit for the consumer web site and gadget geeks Pocket-Lint. The pocket-Lint team were (Fairly) happy to be taken into freefall to get the footage for the in-air test and had a fun time getting the results for the Tom Tom camera guys.

NERF Blaster viral advert for Jungle Creations

1.14 milllion views, 10,000 reactions, 7,700 comments as of 27/9/17

 

 

Take two talented skydivers who can fly their bodies at any angle and speed give them two NERF Blasters and let them battle from 13,000ft.. awesome!

 

Within 3 jumps using helmet mounted Gopro for P.O.V footage and Andy of Infinite Skydiving for outside footage Jungle Creations had enough footage to edit together a Viral thats picked up 1.3 million views in a week.

Infinite Skydiving Instructor and UK 8 Way formation Skydiving team member Phil Hartree took the in air talent slot filmed on the Sony A7rii by Andy Ford on the 21mm Loxia lens.

 

3 Skydives to play with angles and canopy flight saw this job completed under the budgeted 4 jumps with day light to spare.

 

 

Ernst & Young Skydiving Project - The Edge Picture Company

A skydiving project shot for an internal video on Risk Assessment at work. 

 

The team of 4 put together by Andy of Infinite Skydiving shot over the coast of the Algarve in Portugal from 16,000ft.

 

The team using smoke grenades to enhance the visual effect fall whilst skydiver Siân Stokes took the lead role and speaking part. Two days on location saw this project come to a fantastic conclusion.

 

The aerial footage was shot using a helmet mounted 4k Sony A7rii with Leica Loxia 21mm lens provided by Infinite Skydiving Solutions camera dept. The P.O.V shot on Gopro 5 in 4k.

We now hire cameras for most of our in air filming projects as each client has there favorite camera for the look they wish to create. We have succesfully mounted and jumped the following cameras:

        Zeiss Leica Loxia lenses.

Panasonic's P2 HD handheld camcorder is a fantatsic solid state camera (No DV mechanism).

Recording onto P2 card in 20 HD and SD formats - from 1080i, 1080p, 720p to 480i

Mounted on our aerial camera helmet we can capture the action at any speed and any angle.

We have used this stunning camera for a lot of our in air photography, capturing beautiful images with a variety of lens from 15mm through to 200mm for those unique shots.

The Canon also shoots excellent quality video with our range of lenses making this an incredibly versatile camera for your requirements. 

Native movie formats are 1,920x1,080 pixels at 30 frames per second, 25fps or 24fps, 1,280x720 pixels at 60fps or 50fps, and 640x480 pixels, again at 60fps or 50fps.

(Note- We cannot mount the Gopro or any camera onto a tandem student during descent)

Sony Alpha 7sii & A7rii

Sony's Alpha 7sii and the A7rii  features extraordinary sensitivity (up to ISO 46,000) and 4K video output, this compact full-frame camera suits demanding professional use while remaining small enough for mounting alongside other helmet mounted cameras.
